Everyone wants to enjoy every movement of their life to the fullest, bustling with energy, and want to achieve everything that you wanted to. But is this possible? Well… yeah, why not you can do all these things. Just need to awaken your chakra. The Buddhist and Hindu teachings clearly mention that these healing chakras improve our well-being. Some of this chakra might be open, some are not…so they need to balance. Sounds awkward right? But true take a look at how you can awaken and regulate the seven chakras through Yoga.
These are the seven chakras . Among the several chakras, there are seven main chakras , four of which lie in our upper body that control mental properties and three are present in the lower body that controls the instinctual properties.
Below chakras are arranged according to their axial channel
Sahasrara (Crown Chakra)
Ajna (Third-Eye Chakra)
Vishuddha (Throat Chakra)
Anahata (Heart Chakra)
Manipura (Solar Plexus Chakra)
Svadhishthana (Sacral Chakra)
Muladhara (Root Chakra)
Sahasrara or Crown Chakra:
This is highest frequency chakra which is located on the top of the head. People who are not aware of spirituality or lack focus or direction in life should advise opening this chakra. Blockage in this Chakra also contributes to psychological problems.
Location: Top Of The Head
Color: Violet, White
Element: Cosmic Energy
Yoga Pose: The Lotus Pose or the Corpse Pose
Stands For: lack of involvement Of Ego, clarification
How to Awaken the Crown Chakra:
Sit with your legs crossed.
Keep your body and mind in peace.
Place your hands in front of your stomach. Make sure that your little fingers are pointing up and away from you, touching at their tops.Cross the rest of your fingers, and let place your left thumb on your right.
Now close your eyes and begin to meditate and concentrate on your crown chakra.
Silently start chanting the sound “NG”
While chanting this sound, relax your mind and body, but don’t forget to focus on your crown chakra.
Make sure you do this for a minimum of 10 minutes.
This meditation is done after the root chakra but if your root chakra is week don’t go for it. So first make your root chakra strong then come to this chakra.
If you can’t focus on your chakra decorate your room with purple or violet flowers and if possible also wear and eat food that is violet in color.
Healing: Focus on dreams, writing down inventions, violet gemstones and violet essential oils etc
Ajna (Third-Eye Chakra):
Ajna was also known as Third–eye chakra which deals with visual activities. From this chakra, you will not only have an amazing intuition, but you will also tend to dream a lot. This chakra is linked to the pineal gland, A kind of light-sensitive gland that produces the hormone melatonin that regulates sleep and waking up. This is beneficial especially for those people who are prone to depression.
Location: Between Your Eyebrows

Stands For Intuition, increase decision-Making ability.
How to Awaken Ajna (Third-Eye Chakra):
Sit erect with crossed legs
Place your hands in front of the lower part of your breasts. The middle finger must be straight, touching their tops and pointing away from you.
Other fingers must be bent and must touch each other at the upper phalanges. Your the point towards you and meet each other at the tops.
Slowly close your eyes and increase your focus on the Ajna chakra. This asana placed between the centers of your eyebrows.
Silently start chanting the sound “OM”
You can meditate for as long as your mind feels cleansed and refreshed.
This chakra is completely safe and effective but if you have to undergo through chronic hip or knee injury first consult your doctor before starts this chakra.
If you found difficult to focus on the third eye….decorate your home with lavender flowers or with indigo color as this is the color of this asana that will surely helps you.

Visuddhi or Throat Chakra:
This chakra related to communication and growth through expression. It helps you to express yourself with ease. If you feel shy to speak then try to open this chakra. If throat chakra becomes unbalanced it may unable to communicate verbally, physically, and emotionally.
Location: Blue chakra located at the base of the throat.
Yoga Pose: The Shoulder Stand
Stands For: Self-expression with ease
How to Awaken the Throat Chakra:
Sit on your knees and relax your body and mind.
On the inside of your hands and cross the fingers, leaving out your thumb. Pull your thumbs little bit and touch each other at the top.
Now close your eyes to meditate and concentrate on the Throat Chakra.
Silently and softly chant “HAM”.
Keep chanting for about 5-10 minutes. As you do this you may feel relaxation in your throat.
If you are suffering from blood pressure, glaucoma, chronic thyroid disorders, angina, shoulder and neck injuries, or a detached retina never awaken this chakra.
Also, it is advised that women on their mensurating periods avoid doing this.
Always try to do these pose under the instruction. If this asana is not done properly it may injure your neck or spine.
You can also do this asana in Lion Pose, Bridge Pose and Fish Pose that help to open your throat chakra. Blue is the color of this asana so try to decorate your surroundings with blue . Also, try to include blue foods like blueberries in your diet.

Anahata (Heart Chakra):
Anahata of the heart chakra is located at the center of chest just above the heart. This chakra brings a feeling of love, care, emotions and well-being. Those who have a problem in their relationships need t open heart chakra. By opening this chakra you will become most understanding person and friendly which are very important for good relationships.
Location: Center Of The Chest just above the heart
Yoga Pose: The Camel Pose
Stands For: Love, understanding
How to Awaken the Anahata (Heart Chakra):
Sit with your legs crossed.
Place your left hand on your left knee and your right hand in front of lower part of the breastbone.
Now, close your eyes and concentrate on the Heart chakra, located just above the heart.
Start chanting “YAM” clearly, but softly.
Meditate for five minutes every day until you will feel relaxed and refreshed.
If you are suffering from back or neck injury or either deal with high or low blood sugar level then it is best to avoid doing this asana.
You can try to opt. Cobra Pose, Camel Pose to open this chakra. Moreover, this chakra has green color so decorate your surroundings with green color or do medication by look over green view. You can even wear a jade gem and also introduce green vegetables and fruits, such as avocados or grapes.
Family time, spending time with nature, play with pets and always be happy.
Manipura Chakra (Solar Plexus):
This is one of the most demanding chakras as it deals to build confidence among individual .It also solves various issues like fear, anxiety, and introversion. When Manipura chakra is unbalanced it will make you stressed all the time and leaving you mentally and physically exhausted. So increase your confidence and get stress free life by opening this chakra.
Location: In Between the Solar Plexus and Base of the Sternum
Yoga Pose: The Boat Pose
Stands For: Power, Purpose, Self-Esteem
How to Awaken the Manipura Chakra (Solar Plexus):
Sit on your knees by keeping your back erect.
Place your hands on your stomach slightly below your solar plexus. Allow your fingers to join each other at the tops, all pointed away from you. Most importantly Keep the thumbs crossed and straighten the other fingers.
Start meditation by concentrating on the Manipura Chakra
Softly and clearly chant “RAM”.
Do these pose until you feel relaxed and refreshed.
If you are trigger with a migraine and severe headache …stay away from doing this asana.
Heart patients and asthma patients also avoid doing this pose.
It is strictly a big no to pregnant women or during their periods as it may worsen the situation.
Same like other chakra surrounding your surroundings with the color from whom it will be connected like yellow is the color if this asana and also drink or eat yellow color beverages or food.
Learning, doing puzzles or Sudoku, detoxing etc
This chakra actually concerns with desire, pleasure, sexuality and creativity. This chakra controls the sexual needs of the body. If this chakra is underactive you tend to lose interest and are lack emotions and if this chakra is overactive, you will be emotional and sensitive all the time.
Location: Lower Abdomen
Yoga Pose: The Goddess Pose
Stands For: Emotional Stability, Controls your feelings, Flexibility and Creativity
How to Awaken the Svadhisthana:
Sit on your knees by erecting your back.
Place your hands on your lap with facing your palms to the sky and place one over the other.
Then placed fingers of your left hand under your right hand, but the rest of your palm will be exposed to your right.
Close your eyes and start concentrating on your sacral chakra.
Chain sound “VAM”
Meditate or concentrate on your sacral chakra. Until you feel cleansed and refreshed.
It is advised to not to do this asana if you are recently get injured your shoulder, back or hips. So it is best to take advice from your doctor or any yoga expert.
You can also perform yoga poses like Pigeon Pose or Frog Pose. Moreover, you may also include orange colored food or fruits in your diet and also decorate your room with orange color.
Massage, wear orange gemstones etc.
Muladhara (Root Chakra):
This chakra is for those who are nervous or scared often and must need to open this chakra. If root Chakra becomes unbalanced you may feel “stuck” and just can’t seem to move forward in life. An underactive root chakra will make you nervous and fearless whereas over reactive make you materialistic and greedy.
Location: Base of the Spine in the tailbone area.
Yoga Pose: The Tree Pose
Stands For: Being Secure, basic human potentiality, and survival
How to Do the Muladhara:
Stand absolutely erect and drop your arms to the side of your body.
Slightly bend your right knee and place over the right foot high up on your left thigh. Your left leg needs to be firmly erect.
Ground yourself means to feel the ground under you by standing straight and relaxed for several minutes.
After grounding, sit crossed leg
Place your palms on your knees, with your thumb and index fingers softly touching each other.
Now, meditate and concentrate on the Root chakra.
Chant the sound “LAM”, silently and calmly.
Keep doing this asana until you are completely relaxed.
While doing this asana makes sure the sole of the lifted foot is placed preferably over another thigh. Those who suffer from high blood pressure should not raise their arms above the head for a long period of time.
Wearing a garnet stone as well as eating red color food such as apples, beetroots, and tomatoes, will also help to open up this chakra. Always keep the red color in your mind.
Exercise and restful sleep, red gemstones etc.
